Indian Relief Foundation  ( IREF ), The Non Profit Organization, has been serving the needs of the local community comprising of 29 villages and a large settlement of Adivasis near Kalyan East for the last 30 years.

 

This was initiated by Baba Gursahani who was very moved by the conditions of the local population and in fact, his main focus was on lepers and blind people and he also carried out a large number of free medical camps and cataract surgeries.

 

IREF also has an Ashram called Sufi Darshan which is spread over 30,000 sqft and this is largely used for conducting Medical Camps for the poor and BPL population including the Blind and Handicapped.

 

IREF recently launched a new initiative State of the art Mobile Medical Van (MMV)

 

The key differentiator of this initiative is the adaptation of E-Health systems, Digital Patient Health card, telemedicine, and use of Artificial Intelligence to augment Clinical Decision Support system to ensure traceability and traceability for the patients as it will enable us to monitor patient outcomes.

 

The MMV is equipped with a Healthcubed device that performs more than 100 Rapid Blood tests, and the basic vitals like SPO2, Blood Glucose, BP, etc.

 

The MMV is covering more than 29 villages in the Kalyan ( East), Haji Malang area and intends to cater to the medical needs of more than 1 lakh Adivasis and downtrodden staying in remote villages.

 

The project was supported by Lion Ashok Mehta, PLIP, and Lion Dr. Bharat Pathak.

 

The Van has been given by Lions International ( LCIF ) under a Global Grant program and donated by Aruna Abhey Oswal Charitable Trust.

 

Indian Relief Foundation is the implementation partner.

 

Current Activities carried out by IREF :

 

Daily  General Medical camp at various villages through our Mobile Medical Van

Free check-up and medicine distribution

Medical Camps  at Sufi Darshan - Ortho, Cardio, Vision, Malnutrition in association with various partners like SRCC, LTBH, Mission for Vision, etc

Deserving cases are referred to the various tertiary hospitals like Sion, JJ & KEM.

 

Impact :

 

Serving 29   villages currently and we wish to expand to another 30 villages within the vicinity

Eventually cover a population of over 2 lakh

80 % - BPL Population includes Adivasis
